Savory Cheese & Chilli Bread and Butter Pudding
Being a lover of bread and butter pudding I wanted to come up with a savory version of this great British desert! Please make this it is amazing as a supper dish or to accompany a main course.
You will need
1/2 french baguette or 1/2 sourdough loaf sliced
200g mature britich cheddar - montgomary or keens would be great
250ml Milk or Cream
2 Free range eggs
2 or 4 fresh red chilli peppers
salt & pepper to taste
Cut the bread in to 3cm slices butter and arrange in a medium sized ovenproof dish. Mix the eggs with the milk and season. Grate the cheese and mix in to the milk mixture. Chop the chillies and add these to the milk mixture. Pour over the bread and leave to soak for at lease 10 minutes.
Bake at 180*c for 30-40 minutes. ENJOY!
